Building Resilience in our Schools

What makes people resilient?

Resilience factors include realistic optimism, facing fear, moral compass, religion and spirituality, social support, resilient role models, physical fitness, brain fitness, cognitive and emotional flexibility and meaning and purpose.

We call it: Wellness.

Positive aspects can be built and taught. Lets us show you how we have done it.

Lets Talk

Why CFG’s (IWE) Resilience Initiative Works

(For Marketing Purposes, we call it “Make Wellness the Norm”)

Based on Solid Science

  • IWE has developed a powerful system to promote Resilience and Wellbeing for your students and staff. This initiative puts into practice cutting-edge advances from the fields of cognitive and social sciences, neurobiology, behavioral economics, and human performance.

Simple and Effective

  • IWE offers programs to work and fit for every school. Our state-of-the-art, evidence-based approaches to improving school culture make change not only possible, but easy.

Just for You

  • You’ll get guidance, support, and technical assistance when you need it.
  • IWE gives you a program that will help you confront the exact challenges your students and school community face. Set your goals, measure your progress, and lock in your gains for results that last.

Student Wellness Coach Training uses the same Wellness Coach Training courseware as the Adult program, but uses school-based discussion material.

One thing you’ll learn is how to reframe your negative self-talk and negative emotions into more positive emotions.

Our Approach

Our multi-faceted programs use evidence-based approaches to help students improve their physical, emotional, and social well-being. 98% of IWE’s program participants report gaining useful skills and measurable benefits.

IWE’s Winning Solution

IWE’s programs present a winning solution: a program that is hands off for teachers while achieving your desired wellness outcomes in students

Measure Outcomes

We make extensive use of real-time outcomes measurement that delivers immediate insights into how the learning is going. This isn’t about measuring what and how much the student has learned. It’s about making sure that the program makes a difference.

Minimal Teacher Involvement – We provide all the materials and do all the training.

Choose the Program that Works and Fits for Your School.

101 Starting on the Path

Start your students out with science-based wellness strategies

Students explore what wellness is and why it’s critical to their success and happiness. Eight concise online units give students the science-based skills that foster responsible decision-making, positive self-talk, healthy behaviors, and supportive relationships. Students expand their thinking about what counts toward their success and how to use the right strategies and tools to achieve their goals.Curriculum can be incorporated into class, club, or after-school activities.

201 Creating Champions

Create champions to model and inspire well-being

This program creates student champions by training a small group of student leaders as peer wellness coaches in the first phase of the program through a rigorous interactive, online program.

In phase two, those peer coaches take peers through an evidence-based curriculum designed to empower students with the skills to recognize and manage difficult feelings, define and act in accordance with healthy values, create healthy relationships, and use cutting-edge behavioral science to set and achieve meaningful goals.

501 Whole-School Wellness

Engage all members of your school community

Wellness 501 extends Wellness 201 to offer school communities a comprehensive program that changes lives by changing school behavioural mindsets and behavior using evidence-based strategies and methods.

After the rigorous, competency-based training of a large cadre of certified wellness coaches (from 40 -100 student coaches, excluding optional teaching/admin staff) , the coaches are paired and used to lead term-long peer-peer workshops (10-15 members) that use interactive journaling, discussion, brainstorming, and role plays to internalize healthy ways to think, behave, and interact. This will be for the WHOLE year level below them.

We also conduct overall program evaluations at the end of every major section of the training course and wellness classes to assess how well students liked the program, what they learned from it, how that learning applies in their lives. Feedback is then used to modify the program as required for the next batch.

The cool part is that after the training, the student coaches continue to serve, working with peers in the school and beyond
